✔ Takes just a handful of ingredients
✔ Easy to make ahead
✔ Packed with flavour
✔ High in protein
✔ Perfect for entertaining, picnics and grazing platters
There are some recipes that are so ridiculously easy they almost don't deserve to be called recipes.
This is one of them.
Creamy, tangy and packed with that classic French onion flavour we all secretly love, this lighter take on a party favourite swaps out the sour cream for Greek yoghurt.
The result? A dip that's fresher, a little lighter and somehow disappears even faster than the original. Greek yoghurt gives it a creamy texture while adding a little extra protein compared to traditional versions.
The best part? It takes just a few minutes to throw together and looks far more impressive than the effort required.
Perfect for entertaining, afternoon grazing boards, lunchboxes or those moments when you need to bring 'something' to the party and can't be bothered spending hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients
1 cup plain Greek yoghurt
1 medium brown onion, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
½ tablespoon olive oil
¼ teaspoon paprika
A dash of Worcestershire sauce
Pinch of sea salt
Method
Heat the olive oil in a small frying pan over medium heat.
Add the onion and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft, golden and caramelised.
Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Remove from the heat and allow the onion mixture to cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine the Greek yoghurt, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and sea salt. Stir through the onion mixture until well combined.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to develop.
Serve with vegetable sticks, crackers, pretzels, toasted Lebanese bread, pita chips or your favourite potato chips.
Mix It Up
Once you've made it once, you'll find yourself experimenting every time.
A few ideas:
Stir through chopped chives or spring onions for extra freshness.
Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a little citrus kick.
Sprinkle crispy bacon on top before serving.
Fold through finely chopped caramelised mushrooms.
Add a pinch of chilli flakes for some heat.
Top with fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil for a café-style finish.
And that's pretty much it. Simple ingredients, minimal effort, you're the star of the party and there's one very empty bowl by the end of the day.
Dunskies.
